Art is the essence of who Kealey Farmer is, and she freely admits that without its presence in her life she’d probably implode; with just a scattering of glitter where she once stood. Not a thought we wish to dwell on right now, as spontaneous combustion isn’t our thing, nor the best-selling Farmer’s, with any luck. But what is, compositionally confronts us in all of its pictorial glory here and now. Introducing Farmer’s brand new autumn 2017 hand-embellished – and signed – giclee limited edition piece, entitled ‘For the Love of Mod’. And boy, did the mods of the 60s follow all roads to Southend as though the movement was an actual religion of sorts. Graphically celebrating all that was perceived to be ‘modern’ back in the swinging sixties, the much-loved Farmer’s latest piece is full of mod symbolism throughout the length and breadth of its 17” x 27” physical being, and is crying out for the attentions of art lovers everywhere. However, interested parties mustn’t delay, as with just 45 examples up for grabs, we’re expecting a flurry of requests now it’s in the public domain.
