Tradition takes a back seat in Kerry Darlington’s latest 3D offering as the much celebrated contemporary fine artist puts one of nursery rhymes’ favourite characters in suspended animation; as opposed to his more conventional wall dwelling. Oh, and old ‘Humpty Dumpty’ appears to have replicated himself thrice over too as he floats around contemplating his own navel. Welcome to the ‘visually happening’ world of one of the UK’s foremost artisans of her hugely popular genre of creativity, as Darlington treats us to one of her 14 new pieces released early in 2014; and as seen here in all of its reflective glory. Limited to just 295, individually signed sculptures, the eponymous ‘Humpty Dumpty’ is the first of Darlington’s brand new releases.
