Phoenix Feathers

In a somewhat startling revelation, Kerry Darlington goes as far as to suggest that a large percentage of her work is purchased by members of the general public who admit have never bought art work before. This fact alone just goes to highlight the best-selling and award-winning contemporary fine artist’s broad appeal, and the kudos that ownership of her popular themed work brings to those with little or no experience of modern art purchasing. But then it’s little wonder when confronted with the double whammy of Darlington’s work being completely unpretentious and overly accessible to one and all, while often centering on instantly recognisable childhood classics such as Alice in Wonderland and Peter Pan. However in her latest pictorial release ready to be put into the public domain this Spring 2015, ‘Phoenix Feathers’ serves as an illustrative detachment to both the aforementioned and Darlington’s equal passion for crafting the highly graphic semblance of trees. Throwing the visual spotlight on what appears to be a mythical phoenix (although in reality, more akin to the marginally less exotic peacock), Darlington has reminded us once more of her ability to plot colouration and composition in this sublime hand-signed, embellished and glossed, limited Unique Edition.
