Originally inspired to paint trees courtesy of her childhood fascination with the 'Magic Faraway Tree', which she readily admits was amongst her favourite books as a youngster, one of our favourite (and most prolific) contemporary fine artists, Kerry Darlington returns to the highly illustrative fold this Spring 2015, in the welcome graphic guise of, well, wouldn’t you just know it, trees. But then as the old adage implies; why fix something which isn’t broken. Besides which, the widely regarded and much collected Darlington’s signature trees continue to be all the rage in compositional terms, and justifiably so when confronted with such gregarious examples as this, entitled ‘Tree of Gifts’. This very latest, artist-signed limited Unique Edition study is an utter visual delight to settle your eyes on, brandishing Darlington’s hallmark hand-embellishments and uber glossed finish for additional illustrative drama. The kind which us (and her army of fans) simply can’t get enough of. Limited to just 295 editions from the outset, we’re bracing ourselves for a flurry of pre-ordering activity from this moment forward.
