Having obtained a master’s degree in Fashion and Textiles, Louise O’Hara has not by chance an excellent knowledge of fabrics and she openly admits that her studio is filled to the rafters with vintage material. These fabrics and her further collections of hand painted papers and remnants play a big part in her mixed media artistry. Influenced by tactile, threadbare, aged surfaces laden with memories, Louise tells stories with her imaginative use of layering materials and paint in her quintessential north England landscapes.
